Daji is the recommended first mage: her kit is forgiving and her combo is the same every time. In the Mid lane, poke with Fox Fire and farm safely until level 4. Look for the all-in when your Skill 2 stun is up - land it, immediately follow with Skill 1 and your Ultimate, and a squishy target will usually die. Position carefully in team fights: your range is short, so flank from the side rather than walking up the middle, and save Flash for assassins.
