Who we are

HOKFIRE is operated by M.O.B.A. Network AB, a company registered in Sweden. M.O.B.A. Network AB is the controller of the personal data described in this policy.

HOKFIRE is a community resource for Honor of Kings. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Tencent or Level Infinite. Game data is curated by us based on publicly available information.

What data we collect

When you simply browse the site

You do not need an account to use HOKFIRE. Browsing hero guides, tier lists, stats, patch notes and minigames does not require you to give us any personal information such as your name or email.

On-device storage (your browser)

To make the site work smoothly, we store a few small values in your browser's local storage on your own device: your progress in the daily minigames (Hero Wordle and the Ability Quiz), your homepage sort and filter preferences, and your cookie-banner choice. This information stays on your device, is not sent to our servers, and clearing your browser storage simply resets these preferences.

Server logs

Our hosting provider (Vercel) automatically records standard server-log information such as IP address, request timing and response codes, for security, debugging and abuse prevention. These logs are retained for a short period (up to 30 days).

Lawful basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) - site security and reliability.

Analytics (Google Analytics 4)

When you click Accept on our cookie banner, we load Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site in aggregate - which pages are viewed, session length, device type and rough geographic region - so we can improve HOKFIRE. IP addresses are anonymized. Analytics data is processed by Google LLC under the Google Privacy Policy. If you click Reject (or never make a choice), Google Analytics is never loaded and no analytics cookies are set.

You can change your decision at any time via Cookie Settings in the footer.

Lawful basis: consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time.

How we use your data

• To operate and secure the site and its features.
• To publish and maintain the guides, tier lists, stats and patch notes shown on the site.
• To understand how the site is used in aggregate and improve it (analytics), only if you consent.

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not send marketing email.

Who processes your data (sub-processors)

• Vercel Inc. (hosting, US-based) - serves the website and processes incoming requests. Covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and Standard Contractual Clauses.
• Supabase Inc. (database and image storage) - stores the published guides, tier lists, stats, patch notes and hero images.
• Google LLC (analytics, US-based) - Google Analytics 4 processes pageview and session data only if you accept analytics on the cookie banner; no data is sent to Google if you reject or ignore the banner. Covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and Standard Contractual Clauses.

When you view hero, ability, item and arcana artwork, your browser also loads images from official Honor of Kings content delivery networks (for example game.gtimg.cn and camp.honorofkings.com) and from our own storage. These servers see your IP address and browser user-agent at the time of the request but receive no other personal data from us.

Data retention

• Server logs: up to 30 days (hosting default).
• Analytics data: up to 14 months (Google Analytics retention setting).
• On-device storage: stays on your device until you clear it.

Your rights (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area or the UK, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, port, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, email us at info@wearemoba.com and we will respond within 30 days.

Children

HOKFIRE is intended for a general audience and does not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Cookies

For details on the cookies and on-device storage we use and how to control them, see our Cookie Policy. In short: essential and functional storage is always used to make the site work; analytics run only if you click Accept on the cookie banner, and you can change your choice via the Cookie Settings link in the footer.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

Supervisory authority

If you are not satisfied with our response to a privacy concern, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. In Sweden, this is the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY).
